Unlimited Brass, Unlimited Praise in Melbourne

On 22 April, the Melbourne Staff Band joined with the Veterans Band and Future Brass 06 for “Unlimited Brass, Unlimited Praise”. Held at the Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School, this special event featured Salvationist musicians literally of all ages.

National Capital Band Visit to Harrisonburg, Virginia

The National Capital Band (Bandmaster James B. Anderson) visited the Blue Ridge area of Virginia on the weekend of 21 – 23 April 2006, participating in the Brass Festival hosted by James Madison University on Friday evening, performing concerts at a shopping mall in Harrisonburg, Virginia on Saturday morning and at the Central United Methodist Church in Staunton, Virginia on Saturday evening, and conducting worship services on Sunday morning at the Salvation Army hall in Harrisonburg.

The Birmingham Citadel Band and Songsters joined with the William Booth Memorial Halls Band and Songsters on Easter Monday (17 April 2006) for a concert at the William Booth Memorial Halls in Nottingham.

An Emotional Return

A couple are to make an emotional return to their roots in Scotland, accompanied by a brass band. Bob and Muriel Blair met at the Salvation Army Motherwell Citadel in 1966 and married there in 1972 before moving to Dinnington, near Sheffield, in 1975. The couple have organised a tour for Killamarsh Silver Band – of which Bob is a member – to perform a series of concerts in the Motherwell area between May 27 and 29.

Stockholm Citadel in Washington, DC

Monday, 10 April 2006, saw the Stockholm South Citadel Band (Bandmaster Lars-Otto Ljungholm) of the Salvation Army visit the Washington, DC area. The one-day stopover in the Nation's Capital was part of a 10-day tour in which the band traveled from Connecticut to Florida.

SLFB Visit to Worthing

The South London Fellowship Band (under the direction of Major George Whittingham) made a weekend visit to Worthing, 1 – 2 April 2006. They were joined by the guest speaker for the weekend, Major John Waters and, for the Saturday evening festival, cornet soloist Keith Hutchinson.

The Gloucester Salvation Army had its annual Band Weekend on 1 – 2 April 2006, with the Kettering Citadel Band (Bandmaster Richard Phillips) as special guests for a concert on Saturday evening.

Williamsburg Journey for National Capital Band

On Friday, 17 March, the National Capital Band (Bandmaster James B. Anderson) set off on their first ministry weekend of 2006. Journeying south to the city of Williamsburg, Virginia, the band participated in the local Salvation Army's Annual Meeting on Friday evening, performed three outdoor concerts on Saturday, and played for two Sunday morning services at the New Town Methodist Church.
