As has been their tradition for more than 20 years, the National Capital Band of The Salvation Army (Bandmaster James Anderson) kicked off their season with a retreat at Camp Happyland in central Virginia, held 9–10 September. This year, there was a bit of a twist to the retreat, as the band actually had an engagement on Saturday evening, instead of simply having a rehearsal weekend.

The Hythe Band of The Salvation Army (Bandmaster Richard Carroll) brought the curtain down on a very successful bandstand season organized by the Hythe Town Council on 18 September 2005 with an excellent and varied program at the Oakland's Bandstand.

The Bellshill Corps Band of the Salvation Army was featured as a part of a series of brass and military music on BBC Radio Scotland over the summer. The four-part series on the Sunday Bandstand was presented by John Wallace, principal trumpet at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

The Melbourne Staff Band (Bandmaster Ken Waterworth) visited the Preston Corps on Sunday, 21 August 2005, for a day of worship and praise.

The final days of July saw the South London Fellowship Band (conducted by Major George Whittingham) visit Boscombe.

The Norwich Citadel Band (Bandmaster Douglas Beattie) ended their 2004 – 2005 season with a flurry of activity, including engagements in Ditchingham, Sheringham and Dereham, and recording sessions for a special Christmas project.

The Salvation Army “opened fire” in Coventry in January, 1878. Since that time, the Coventry City Corps has remained a stronghold in the work. The Corps has recently completed construction on a new hall, which was formally dedicated on 2 July 2005.
12 September 2005 13:10:19Tri-Town Centenary Aided by Staff Band
2005 marks the centenary of the The Salvation Army's Tri-Town corps, located in the northern Ontario town of New Liskeard. On the weekend of 4‑5 June 2005, the Canadian Staff Band, under the direction of Bandmaster Kevin Hayward, journeyed to this scenic area to participate in the celebrations.

Major Richard Munn, Secretary for Program at the USA Eastern Territorial Headquarters of The Salvation Army, has been tapped as the new Executive Officer of the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Ronald Waiksnoris).

On Saturday, 10 September 2005, thousands of witnesses will march in the Jesus in the City parade in Toronto, Canada. The Salvation Army's Mississauga Temple Band will participate in this year's parade.
