Members of the National Capital Band traveled to the Salvation Army's Camp Happyland, in central Virginia, on 9 July 2005, for a day of instruction and demonstration at the annual summer Music Conservatory held at the camp.

The Hythe Band of The Salvation Army (Bandmaster Richard Carroll) was invited to Walmer Castle to play as part of a reception hosted by the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, on 23 July 2005.

Bandmaster Jack Flounders of the Leeds Central Corps Band of the Salvation Army has retired after fourteen successful years. He has been succeeded by Bandmaster Craig Buchan.
