"A Celebration of Praise" in Woodbridge

The Anglia Golden Oldies Band presented a benefit concert at St. Johns Church in Woodbridge, Suffolk, on 19 March 2005. Proceeds from the evening were distributed to three organizations: the Woodbridge Salvation Army Community Fund, "Just 42" (a local Christian youth project), and a school in Mozambique.

Bands in Hythe Join for Concert

In March 2005, the Hythe Corps Band of the Salvation Army and the Hythe Town Band joined for their third annual fundraising concert. Several hundred persons from the Hythe community attended the event, which was divided into three parts. Attendees included the Mayor of Hythe and Shepway MP Michael Howard.

Parc & Dare Sign Salvationist Cornet Virtuoso

Noted Salvationist cornet soloist Carl Saunders has signed with the Parc & Dare Band as co-principal cornet, joining current principal Robert Samuel.

Sunday in Morwell for MSB

On Sunday, 6 March 2005, the Melbourne Staff Band (Bandmaster Ken Waterworth) traveled to the town of Morwell to participate in worship services at the local Salvation Army corps, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

120th Anniversary Celebration in Halifax

On Friday, 4 March 2005, the Canadian Staff band (Bandmaster Kevin Hayward) travelled to Halifax, Nova Scotia, for a weekend celebrating the 120th anniversary of the Halifax Citadel corps. Special guests for the weekend were Captains Len and Heather Ballantine.

Annual Festival Features Future All-Stars

Sixty young people, ranging in age from 13 to 18, from all four US territories and Canada gathered at Star Lake Camp in New Jersey for the second annual Future All-Stars weekend sponsored by the New York Staff Band. The weekend, held 18 – 20 February 2005, culminated in the Staff Band's 118th Annual Festival, held this year at the Spring Valley Corps.

VanderWeele Featured on New Disc

The fifth disc in the Soloist Series is the first to feature a brass instrumentalist, Aaron VanderWeele, principal euphonium of the New York Staff Band.

New York State of Mind

The National Capital Band, based in Washington, DC, spent the last weekend of February in the Greater New York Division, with performances at the Centennial Memorial Temple, Templo de Queens, and Hempstead Citadel.
