Fairview Young People On Tour

During the March school break (March 12-20, 2004), the Fairview Citadel Young Peoples Band, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, made a visit to the Ottawa, Ontario area.

National Capital Band Springs Ahead

Saturday, 27 March 2004 marked the first day of the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC. The festival is a marker of the coming of spring to the Nation's Capital each year. Although not an official part of the festival, the National Capital Band of the Salvation Army (Bandmaster John B. Jones) participated by playing an outdoor concert at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial.

Band and Choir Join for Benefit in Milton Keynes

The Birmingham Citadel Band (Bandmaster David Nicholson) joined with the Chelmsford Songsters (Songster Leader Joanne Schultz) on 20 March 2004 for a benefit event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Milton Keynes.

The Wilkinson Northern Open, a contest to be held in November, has announced a test piece lineup which includes Salvation Army pieces in all sections.

SLFB Helps Emmanuel Celebrate 75 Years

Over the past ten years, the South London Fellowship Band has developed a special bond with the Emmanuel Church in West Wickham. The church is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and the band was invited to participate in the first of a series of events in celebration of the anniversary.

The National Capital and Virginia Division of the Salvation Army, headquartered in Washington, DC, has announced that Bandmaster James B. Anderson has been appointed Divisional Music Director.
