Chicago Staff Band in Des Moines

The Chicago Staff Band (Bandmaster William Himes) traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, on 20 February 2010 for an evening concert at the First Baptist Church of Greater Des Moines. The band returned to the church on Sunday morning to participate in worship services.

Items from the Saturday evening festival included:

  • The Guardian (Peter Graham) – Brett Tolcher, soloist
  • Cause for Celebration (William Himes)
  • Concertante for Cornets and Band (Stephen Bulla)
  • Lord, Lord, You Sure Been Good to Me (arr. Alexander)
  • He Leadeth Me (Paul S. Kellner)
  • Vitae Aeternum (Paul Lovatt-Cooper)
  • The Stars and Stripes Forever (John Philip Sousa, arr. William Himes)
  • Choral Benediction (William Himes)
