ISB Announces 120th Anniversary Event
The International Staff Band (Bandmaster Dr. Stephen Cobb) has announced plans to celebrate its 120th anniversary with an international brass weekend. The focal point will be at the Royal Albert Hall, London, featuring Salvation Army staff bands from around the world. Although planning is still at an early stage, the event is likely to feature the largest gathering of staff bands ever seen, including bands from North America, Australia, Japan and Europe.
Bandmaster Cobb exclaimed, “This is likely to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we anticipate drawing an audience from all over the world.”
Other “fringe” events during the weekend are like to be held at Regent Hall (Oxford Street) and Westminster Central Hall.
The celebration is planned for the weekend of 3 – 5 June 2011. Further details will be announced in due course.
