Rotary Carol Service, Birmingham

On Wednesday, 16 December 2009, the Birmingham Citadel Band (Bandmaster Graham Lamplough) led the Birmingham Rotary Club’s carol service which was held, once again, at Birmingham Citadel Salvation Army.

The Birmingham branch of the Rotary Club sponsored the event, which saw several hundred people gather to sing favorite carols and listen to music from the band. The program was compèred by Fred Crowhurst, who also organized the event, and Major Samuel Edgar, West Midlands Divisional Commander.

The band’s contributions to the program included The Wonder of Christmas (Peter Graham), Sleigh Ride (Leroy Anderson), Immanuel (Steven Ponsford) and A Christmas Finale (Paul Lovatt-Cooper). The band concluded the night with The Joy of Christmas (Robert Redhead).
