Cradley Heath, Cornerstone and Deep Harmony
On 5 September 2009, the Cradley Heath Band of the Salvation Army (Bandmaster Rob Westwood-Payne) joined worship band Cornerstone and vocal group Deep Harmony, both from the Willenhall Salvation Army, for a worship concert as a part of Cradley Heath Salvation Army’s Over 60s Club anniversary weekend.
The packed hall was hushed at 6:00 pm as Cornerstone reminded the congregation why they were there as they sang Tim Hughes’s Here I Am to Worship. Laughter and joy were as much a part of the evening’s worship as the quieter, more reflective times, and Deep Harmony set the tone for the evening with their first contribution – Get Happy.
The Cradley Heath Sunshine Club choir (Leader Audrey Stringer) contributed Jesus Is the Joy of Living. In the same vein, the band played the march Fill the World with Music and the contemporary arrangement Righteousness, Peace and Joy.
