Changes in Amsterdam

At the end of the season the Amsterdam Staff Band bade farewell to several members, including Marco Beeldman (bass trombone), Menno van der Woude (flügelhorn), Fokko Ponsen (Eb bass), Bjorn de Heer (second trombone), Kristiaan Riksten (first cornet) and Miranda Ponsen (public relations).

In addition to the players and other personnel listed above, Staff Bandmaster Thijs Musch has passed on the baton. His busy agenda as a professional trumpet player, as well as his home situation (he recently became the proud father of a daughter) do not allow him enough time to spend on the Staff Band. The Staff Band regrets his decision, but understands his situation and wishes him farewell. Deputy Staff Bandmaster Olaf Ritman is currently leading the group.

The Staff Band is pleased to introduce the following new Staff Bandsmen: Harm Dijkstra (bass trombone) from Amsterdam West Corps, Fred van der Woude (solo cornet) from Almere Corps, Nathan Sudmeijer (percussion) also from Almere Corps and Pia Smedinga (public relations) from Leeuwarden Corps.
