The London Citadel Band (Bandmaster John Lam) announced some recent personnel changes in July 2009.

The band said farewell to Sarah and Rachel Ewing, who have graduated with music degrees from the University of Western Ontario and moved on to the next stage of their careers. The band noted that they both had been outstanding members of the band for the past four years, thanked them for their serviced and wished them well in their future endeavors.

The band also welcomed Jonathan Lam as a permanent member of the bass section. Jonathan grew up in the London Citadel youth band and has attended many Salvation Army music camps with his parents. He has had a broad exposure to banding and has developed a real passion for it. Lam’s first taste of a London Citadel Band trip was the band’s journey to Holland, Michigan in early May. The long march (part of the annual Tulip Festival) is a real test of anyone’s passion for banding. The band congratulated Jonathan for “surviving” the march and becoming a permanent member of the band.
