Fellowship Bands Support Balloons4Hearts
Balloons4Hearts is a charity set up in Norwich to raise funds for a cardiology clinic at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, to alleviate patients in this area from having to travel to Papsworth Hospital for treatment. As members of both bands have had such treatments, the concert was given in the way of a “thank you” for the work of this charity.
Items from the Norfolk Fellowship Brass included The Singing Heart featuring Bram Bryant on vocals, Spirituals featuring Bandmaster Todd (who, in addition to his service with the Anglia Fellowship Band, is a member of the front row of the Norfolk group), Say You, Say Me with Bandmaster Woodrow joining Bandmaster Todd on cornet, Variations on a Swedish Folk Song, a euphonium feature Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair, English Folk Songs from Somerset, True Colours and Spirit.
The Anglia Fellowship Band featured Spirit of Anglia, Jesus Folk, Bright and Beautiful, Take Up Thy Cross with Brian Midgley on trombone, The Lost Chord and Tomado de la Mano.
The concert concluded with the massed bands playing Hine e Hine.
A total of £1,248 was raised for Balloons4Hearts.
