Ensemble from Gloucester at Sheppard House

The Senior Band Ensemble from the Gloucester Corps brought some early Christmas cheer and the message of Christmas to the residents, staff and visitors at Sheppard House, Newent, on 19 November 2007.

The event was a Christmas party at Sheppard House and the band was pleased to share in fellowship, fun, tea and coffee. The concert included a selection of Christmas music from the band, including Candlelight Carol and two Christmas marches, On Christmas Day and Christmas Joy. Tom Elliot provided entertainment with magic with a Christian message, Phil Webb sang a solo, and Bandmaster Clifford Matthews read poetry. In addition, the 60 or so people gathered at Sheppard House joined in the singing of several carols.

The evening was very worthwhile and the band members were pleased to have been invited to share fellowship and a little bit of real Christmas in this way.
