Todd Takes the Baton in Anglia
The Anglia Golden Oldies Band has announced the appointment of Ray Todd as Bandmaster, following the retirement, because of ill health, of Bandmaster Bram Scott.
Bandmaster Todd was born in Felixstowe and became a youth band member, eventually transferring to the Senior Band. He later joined the The Band of HM Royal Horse Guards (“The Blues”) where he served for 22 years as principal cornet. During his time in the Guards band he was a member of the Chalk Farm Band, becoming Deputy Bandmaster and serving as Bandmaster for three years. As a member of Salvation Army bands, he has been privileged to perform in many countries of the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Russia, along with many parts of Europe. Now retired, he serves at Norwich Citadel with his wife, Elizabeth.
