Concert at St. John's Methodist by Gloucester Music Sections

The Gloucester Salvation Army Band (Bandmaster Clifford Matthews) and Songsters visited St. John's Methodist Church, Northgate Street, Gloucester, on 8 March 2006. The band began the concert with the march Able. Other band items included A Fanfare of Praise and Leslie Condon's masterpiece The Call of the Righteous. Solo items included the euphonium solo The Holy Well, played by Julian Brand; and Concerto d'Aranjuez, with Phil Webb on cornet.

Items from the songsters included Shall We Gather at the River, The Greatest of These and God's Thoughts to Me (an adaptation of Psalm 139). The women of the songster brigade contributed I Miss My Time With You, which was met with warm appreciation from the audience. The Songster's final contribution was the up-tempo Rock Eternal. Visual projections were uesd to enhance the message of all of the selections.
