Executive Change for Canadian Staff Band

The Canadian Staff Band (Bandmaster Kevin Hayward) announced on 30 March that their Executive Officer, Lt.-Col. Merv Leach, would be stepping aside because of health issues. Leach will not accompany the band on their Western Canada tour in June.

To fill the vacancy, Lt.-Col. (retired) William Wilson has been appointed as Executive Officer pro tem. Wilson hails from Scotland and at one time was a member of the Hendon Band in the UK. He has had a long career as a Salvation Army officer in the Canada and Bermuda Territory and is known as a strong supporter of music programs.
