VanderWeele Featured on New Disc

The US Eastern Territory of The Salvation Army has previously released several solo vocal recordings featuring prominent vocalists from the territory. The fifth disc in the Soloist Series is the first to feature a brass instrumentalist, Aaron VanderWeele, principal euphonium of the New York Staff Band. Entitled Air 'N Variations, the recording features 14 solo items, accompanied by the Staff Band.

Items on the recording are wide-ranging in style and era, with some old favorites such as We'll All Shout Hallelujah and Song of the Brother, some slow melody works such as Commitment and You Raise Me Up, and some new solos such as Ochills and the title work, which was composed by Stephen Bulla especially for the soloist.

Scheduled for world-wide release in March 2005, the recording can be ordered through the New York Staff Band site (www.nysb.org) or internationally at World of Brass (www.worldofbrass.com).
