Carol Concerts in Swansea

On Sunday, 19 December 2004, the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea was the venue for two Carol Concerts held by the Swansea Citadel Band and Songsters. Attendance was in excess of 2,000 persons. In addition to the Corps music sections, the Morriston Rugby Club Male Voice Choir also participated in the event.

All of the Citadel's music sections participated in the concerts. The junior timbrel brigade gave a display to the march Romford Young People (Andrew Mackereth). The singing company presented three items, including It Isn't Very Comfy on a Camel. The Morriston Rugby Club Choir contributed Kwmbayah, Torches, and Good King Wenceslas. Christmas readings and congregational carols were interspersed with the items presented.

Songster items included Gift-wrapped Love (lyrics, Rob Little; music, David Catherwood) and Bethlehem Joy (Susan Candill). The senior timbrel brigade's routine was to Fanfare, Praise and Thanksgiving. The Citadel Band concluded the concert with Erik Silfverberg's Little Christmas Suite and Bill Broughton's arrangement of Away in a Manger, followed by an epilogue depicting the Nativity.
