Drury Appointed Composer-in-Residence

Scottish Salvationist Paul Drury, one of the bright young stars in the brass band composition scene, has been appointed Composer-in-Residence to the Unison Kinneil Band. This is the first time in the 146-year history of the band that a person has been named to this position. Drury has been a member of the band's tuba section for eighteen months, serving as the principal Eb bass soloist. His march Jubilee, was used by the International Staff Band during their recent North American tour and was the title track on the tour recording. Jubilee was played by Sellers International Band at the Brass in Concert contest at Spennymoor on 21 November 2004, and received recognition as "Best March" for the contest, helping propel Sellers to a second-place finish.
