Contest Goes "Army"

The Wilkinson Northern Open, a contest to be held in November, has announced a test piece lineup which includes Salvation Army pieces in all sections. Although Army compositions have been used as test pieces in the past, this is the first time that an entire competition is based in the Army repertoire.

The test pieces announced for the competition include:

Championship and First Sections
Quintessence (Robert Redhead)

Second Section
Renaissance (Peter Graham)

Third Section
The Call of the Righteous (Leslie Condon)

Fourth section bands may select any piece published by Salvationist Publishing and Supplies (SP&S).

The competetition will be held in the Theatre Royal in St. Helens on Sunday, November 21, 2004.
