Carol Concert in Birmingham
Three thousand people filled Symphony Hall for Birmingham Citadel's Christmas concert, entitled Rejoice. Created by Graham Lamplough, the program blended both contemporary and traditional Christmas music, drama, and dance. The guest soloist was noted vocalist Darren Bartlett. The performance also integrated multimedia, both to enhance the views of the performers and to illustrate the carols. All elements of the Corps contributed to the evening, including the Primary children, who portrayed the Nativity.
The band presented Gaudate, with medieval scenes in the multimedia. The concert was ended with a setting of O Come, All Ye Faithful. The concert was in benefit for the Aston Youth Corps project, with £5000 raised this year.
