New Leadership for National Capital Band

Duncan Sutton has been named as the fifteenth Bandmaster of the National Capital Band of the Salvation Army, based in Washington, DC. He succeeds Bandmaster Ian Anderson, who took the baton in September of 2002. Bandmaster Sutton will commence leadership of the group following the band's weekend trip to Lynchburg, Virginia, February 22-23, 2003.

Bandmaster Sutton assumed the position of Divisional Music Director in the National Capital and Virginia Division in late November, 2002. Originally from England, he had previously been employed as the manager of the Conference Center at the Salvation Army's USA Western Territory.
