Regent Hall Band Supports "Day of Celebration"
Supported by, among others, the Regent Hall Band, Chief of the Staff Commissioner John Larsson and Commissioner Freda Larsson conducted a pair of meetings on Sunday, April 22, with the theme "Celebrating London". The afternoon meeting featured a ten-member choir from The Grey Coat Hospital, a prestigious London school with a number of Salvationist students. Musical contributions from the Regent Hall Band included The Lambeth Walk, So Glad (flügelhorn soloist Peter Elliot), and This Is My Story (cornet soloist Paul Sharman).
The evening meeting, also held at "The Rink", was opened in grand fashion with the band's playing of Fanfare for the Common Man. The celebration was further advanced with a performance of The Kingdom Triumphant. A highlight of the evening meeting was the presentation, by the Chief of the Staff, of Certificates in Recognition of Exceptional Service to Corps Sergeant-Major Godfrey Carter (retired) of Cambridge Heath and Bandmaster Don Ashman of Edmonton.
