Cobb Appointed Music Director for UK and Ireland
Stephen Cobb, the bandmaster of the International Staff Band, has been appointed Territorial Music Director of the United Kingdom Territory with the Republic of Ireland, effective 2 April 2001. This new position replaces the Music Ministries Officer (formerly titled Territorial Music Secretary and National Secretary for Bands and Songster Brigades). In his new appointment, Bandmaster Cobb will have overall responsibility for all Salvation Army music actvities in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, including the Music Editorial Unit. He is the first lay Salvationist to direct the music forces of the territory.
