About the Webmaster
The Webmaster of The Brass Crest, Robert D. Schramm, has been associated with brass bands since the age of seven. A fourth-generation Salvationist, he attends the Prince George’s Corps (Hyattsville, Maryland), where he began playing with the corps band in 1974, serving as Bandmaster from 1999 through 2005. He is also long-time member of the National Capital Band of the Salvation Army, with over 25 years of service. He serves as the webmaster for the NCB’s official site and is the principal baritone. He is married and has two daughters, both of whom are active brass musicians in Salvation Army corps and youth bands. Both of his daughters are also members of the National Capital Band, marking the third generation of the family to play in that ensemble.
The Webmaster has a rich background in brass band music. His father, Robert C. Schramm, was a professional musician with 23 years in the United States Air Force Band, was Deputy Bandmaster and principal euphonium of the National Capital Band for 37 years, and has had compositions published by the Salvation Army in New York and London.
Professionally, the Webmaster is a software developer specializing in human resources and financial systems, primarily for hospitals and other health care facilities.
